About Scholarships

FANHS Sacramento Delta Chapter Scholarships

 At FANHS Sacramento-Delta Chapter, we believe in the power of education and the importance of supporting the next generation of leaders. Our scholarship program is designed to provide financial assistance to Filipino American students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. 

Scholarship information

Eligibility Requirements

 To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: 

  1. Must be an upcoming 2024 high school graduate; or continuing college student 
  2. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 if enrolled in a 2-year college or vocational school and not less than 2.5 if enrolled in a 4-year school. 
  3. Applicants must be enrolled at the college or school as a full-time student commencing Fall of 2024. 
  4. Applicants must have completed at least 10 hours of community service with Filipino-American organizations during the previous 12 months. A list of Filipino-American organizations is provided on request.

Application Process

  1. Contact us for the Application Packet 
  2. Submit a sealed copy of an OFFICIAL transcript from your school 
  3. Submit an essay on “WHY FILIPINOS SHOULD BE PROUD OF THEIR HERITAGE.” This composition should be double-spaced and 2 -3 pages in length. Spelling, grammar, punctuation, neatness, and thoughtfulness will make your essay easier to read and, in addition to your readiness for higher education or skill development, will demonstrate your desire and motivation for receiving the scholarship award. 
  4. Applications are due on July 31, 2024

Scholarship Committee Selection Process

The Scholarship Committee will be responsible for the selection process based on the GPA, community involvement, extracurricular activities, both essays and letters of recommendations.
